Hi,
Have STIR Plus MTR for a year.
Just don't know why, have made Update today and now cannot turn the device on.

All this happened when I updated ('Update All') the device, then started check settings (was just browsing around) and the Detector Software crashed.


When I turn the device on, nothing happens (some click maybe) - the screen remains blank, the buttons are not lit.
Then I can enter into update mode (pwr+mute) at any time (no need to turn the power off) buttons for some 5-7 seconds.

I can then install updates (all 2 stages), make 'update all' (all 4 stages) successfully, update database no problem, but when I close the Detector Tools software the keys go blank and I cannot turn the device on, just can enter this 'Update mode' by holding 2 buttons.
Is there any way to force the device to return to normal operation?

Why would a 995 have extremely short range and not lock on to a signal. I get a signal from a trooper and then instead of getting stronger as we pass each other the signal drops out.

S7 vs M4 rx65 units - my understanding is that s7 units auto select the 2/5/8 bands and drop the rdr filtering when Ka USA mode is selected and the newer M4 models select 2/5/8 segments but do not drop the rdr filtering. is this feature on the firmware / software side? if so, can you update an m4 unit with the older s7 software that drops the rdr in ka usa mode? or is the firmware / software for the S7 and M4 models not compatible with each other? so hardware in the M4 the limiting factor from keeping u from dropping the rdr filtering or would require software development that is not feasible for an older product?

S7 and M4 are different antennas, not different software versions.
Separate band segmenting and RDR toggles will not be available on the Pro300. Ka USA mode (default setting) maximizes Ka response times against Ka radar equipment currently used in the USA.

any plans to add sb/rdr firmware to pro300 or any bel windshield mount unit? or reduce the sweep time so a unit can sweep full USA ka band with rdr filtering and still detect short (<250ms) i/o shots?

if i have a rx65 m4, can you refresh the firmware and make it a s7?

Also, if i have a s7 that needs service "service required" and i send it to you for service will it still be a S7 where USA mode selects USA bands 2,8,10 and turns off rdr?

The operating temperature range for our radar detectors is -20C to 70C, -4F to 158F

What is the operating Temperature Of the STI Magmum it is getting down to the 20"s and want to make sure it is alright.
