I am using Detector Tools version 1.5.37 and it works perfectly for me. Should I and/or do I need to download version 1.5.42?

Should you? Yes, I recommend using the latest version.
Must you? No, it isn't necessary.

Sorry Noobs here but what is download tools use for again? Currently using Sti magnum with direct wired Escort live. I was looking around so see if I need to update my escort live via USB A/B with PC.

Detector Tools is software used to update a Beltronics radar detector that is equipped with a USB port (GT-7, Pro500, and the STi-R Plus installed system).

The Escort Live smartphone app is updated through The App Store or Google Play on your smartphone. Not through your PC or Mac.

What is the difference between North America and International Detector Tools?
My GX65 that I bought from US,back in 2008, needs North American or the International version?
