Missing white logo

Does anyone know why my V955 might be missing the white "Beltronics" logo from the graphic display of the unit (the side closest to the driver, where the Radar warnings are displayed?

The picture on the box shows it there as well as every other YouTube video I have seen.

Mine doesn't have it.

Does it have a silver label on top or a grey label? The older V955s with the grey label did not have the logo on the display lense.

We no longer produce that model. Did you purchase it new from an authorized seller?

The older label has the words "Vector 955" written horizontally, correct? If so, mine has the newer label with the "vector" written in small letters which are oriented vertically on the left side of the "955."

I bought it new from Amazon.com directly, not through a reseller. I was told that Beltronics has sold authentic units directly to Amazon. Is this correct?

Is it possible that somehow the graphic display without the printed logo was used on the newer model, but the graphic display was actually made for the older model?

I'm thinking that Bel might have had leftover displays from the older design when the newer housing went into production.

I would imagine that my serial number would be one of the first of the newer models and that this unit is actually several years old and has been sitting on a shelf somewhere unused for all that time.

Is there a record of manufacturing dates according to the serial number? I would be curious to know the date of manufacture of my unit.

The manufacture date is on the serial label on the detector. There is an 8 digit serial number, a space, and then 4 digits. The 4 digits are the mfr date. For instance, 2511 would mean that the detector was manufactured on the 25th week of 2011.

My unit's mfr date is 4012, 40th week of 2012...

That should make it born sometime in late September of this year.

So, why no white logo?

I just checked with manufacturing and confirmed that we made a running change earlier thier year on the Vector series removing the printed Beltronics name on the front lense. Yours is as it should be.
