I have receive the new mount.
Nice design and stronger. The only problem where I am found is the suction cups, needs upgrade with better quality. They fail down. The old ones are better.

Interesting, although some have found the new cups to not work well, none have reported that they are worse than the current suction cups. Maybe your quick release mechanism isn't working correctly.

The quick release lever on your mount (it's in between the two cups) may not be blocking air release in the cups properly. Open the lever and look in at the cups to see if anything may be preventing it to keep the cup seal airtight.

Thanks for the feedback konsee!

Default New Detector Mount

The new mount is definitely superior to the previous model in terms of stability and freedom of movement. I agree that the cups are in need of improvement. I live in a very hot climate and need to remove the detector from the mount when I am not driving. The cups were no longer functional after just 6 days use. If you can cme up with a more durable cup you will have a winning mount! In the meantime, is it possible to purchase cups for this mount? Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback!

We presently do not have any replacement cups for this mount. We are not even selling the mount itself yet. This was a trial run for this design.

Default New Mount

I'm sure that the cups issue can be worked out. The new mount is a superior product in appearance as well as in terms of its stability. I used it on a new GX65.

Perhaps I wore out the cups removing the unit several times per day as necessitated by climate and extreme heat. An alternative to this action would be to use the fast release provided, however, on the 2004 Acura, if the detector is mounted low and close to the dash, this is not possible, and using the release button on the detector usually resulted in the cups disengaging.

Thanks for this trial opportunity to test this unit and for your efforts to engage in continuous improvement of products.

What was the final verdict about this prototype mount? Is Beltronics releasing a retail version?
