Default Beltronics GT-360- Great until yesterday

Have had this unit for about two and a half months now and have appreciated how quiet it is, as well as the utility of the arrows. Installed it with a Blendmount solution and wired it to the power supplied to the mirror so that was awesome too. Like others, was concerned about the potential for a loud lock up, but was most concerned about it have the silent lockup. As such, I purchased a Pocket Radar and would test it every so often when it seemed TOO quiet.

All was well until yesterday. Had a reflector on the windshield to keep the sun out of the car and when I got back after work noticed that there was a moderate amount of condensation on the windshield. Turned on the defrost, and as I was driving away noticed the first of two error messages that both went away on their own: CHECK FR. As I got closer to home and it was radio silence, I checked with the pocket radar and NADA. So sounds like one of those silent lockups. Great.

Got home, and following morning I checked again as I was leaving to work. Initially I got nothing, but then it went off alerting to the K signal and I had it lock up- despite the fact that I was no longer activating the button on the Pocket Radar. Cycled the unit on/off by pressing the power switch silenced the alert, but when I tried the Pocket Radar again, same thing. Including video of the second loud lockup. I had to unplug the power cord to the detector, and then it would detect the Pocket Radar without locking up. Believe, though I'm not certain, that it wasn't fully connected to Escort Live. I try to run with EL active, though occasionally it loses connection to my iPhone. It seems like I wasn't getting the signal this time.

I've actually enjoyed this detector but now have significant concerns about it. Any thoughts from anyone on the forum? I'm assuming I'll have to go to the escort forum and post about this so they can give the standard "mail it in and we'll repair it" advice?

It is probably intentionally not alerting to your "pocket radar". Cheap radar sources like this are extremely noisy, the detector will try to filter it out.

The error message is not normal operation. I would have it checked out while it is under warranty. To set this up, contact us at the number in my signature below.
