Data Base Flaw???

Where i live in Australia my STi-R PLUS alerts me to lots of cameras that dont even exist. The town i live in only has a few red light cameras but no speed cameras.
I get a speed camera warning at nearly every intersection or a speed camera warning at an intersection where there red light cameras.

When traveling westbound on Forest Creek Dr and then turning southbound on Red Bud Ln (Co Rd 122) my GX65 gives me a red light warning. Of course the light is now behind me. When traveling either north or southbound on Red Bud, the warning is correct. The problem appears when I'm turning off of Forest Creek onto Red Bud.

Your GX65 is operating correctly. Allow me to explain.

Many photo enforced intersections, such as this one, are only monitored in certain directions. Our database has these directions. If you approach the intersection in an un-monitored direction then the detector should not alert. When turning onto a monitored direction at the intersection the detector may alert as you describe.

I have to say that I agree with Barry Swanson about the red light camera problem in the Trinity data base with my Bel xrc plus here in Australia. Many intersections which have red light cameras do not include speed cameras as of yet. I have the red light camera notification disabled as we have so many here but the Bel xrc plus tells me that there is a speed camera at that intersection when in fact it is a red light camera. The data base needs to be corrected and fixed properly. it's 2012 now and the problem was reported back in 2010. Come on guys !!!

Where in Australia are these being reported incorrectly? Please post or PM me intersection details where you receive speed camera alerts when you should not.

The following 2 intersections are reporting speed cameras when in fact they are just red light cameras... Both on the Sunshine Coast, Queenland Australia...


Sugar Road & Mooloolaba Road - Buderim Queensland

Jessica Boulevard & Nicklin Way - Minyama Queensland

Red light and speed cameras, which will cite for speeding when the light is green, will report as "speed cameras" on our detectors.

But hang on these intersections don't have speed cameras just red light cameras with no speed cameras built in to them. I thought I explained this clearly before. I will let Neltronics know instead. Thanks
