Default Pro 500

Are there any plans, or is there a way with a software update, to filter out all of the K band and Ka band false alerts that now happen constantly since there are a lot of vehicles now having some kind of built in RADAR for collision control or parking assist or whatever it is?

I paid a lot of money for the Pro 500 and with all the false alerts it's nearly useless. It really sucks because I like the detector, the GPS RLC alerts, marked locations, etc., but it's getting so I don't want to use it because I'm so used to the bad alerts I'm afraid I'll miss a real one.

Side note, is there a detector that filters this stuff out on the market now and is there any kind of trade in allowance for my now pretty much useless $500 Pro 500?

Unfortunately the Pro500 cannot reliably filter these signals out.

Escort (Beltronics sister company) offers several detectors which filter these out. This feature is called an IVT Filter and is software updatable. Escort models with an updatable IVT Filter are:
MAX 360
RedLine EX
ESCORT iX
MAX Ci/MAX Ci 360 (custom installed systems)

MAX 360 will receive an IVT Filter update very soon which greatly improves its IVT Filter performance.

Thanks for the reply. It truly sucks as spending as much as I did on the Pro500 was a hard thing to do, no way I can spend even more than I did on it for something else with the GPS feature, now it's pretty much a paper weight.

Your subscription is not affected by reloading software onto your detector. You can verify through Detector Tools. If the merge button on Detector Tool's main screen is green, then you have a valid Defender subscription allowing you to update your detector as often as you like.
