Patrik Walker, an Emmy Award-winning writer, delves into the world of comics and superheroes, sharing his expertise on platforms like the Dallas Cowboys, The Sporting News, and CBS Sports. His passion for all things comics, anime, gaming, and movies makes him a revered figure in his field. Today, he explores the possibility of Aquaman joining the ranks of the Absolute Universe, a highly anticipated DC Comics anthology.

The Absolute Universe has captivated fans with its unique take on DC Comics, notably through the acclaimed series Absolute Batman, which introduced a terrifying Joker. This success led to a spin-off, Absolute Catwoman, set for release in 2026. However, the lineup is incomplete without Aquaman, a key member of the Justice League.

Kelly Thompson, the writer behind the acclaimed Absolute Wonder Woman, sparks excitement by hinting at a potential standalone Aquaman series in the Absolute Universe. During a conversation with the Splash Pages Comic Book Club, Thompson revealed that discussions about Aquaman's inclusion are ongoing, and the Trident, a key element, has been a part of the narrative.

"I certainly wouldn't be able to say, but [he] certainly has been a part of the conversation. People are talking about it, and they wouldn’t have let me put the Trident in there if they weren’t open to that question. I can’t say it’s coming, but I think it’s a part of the conversation, one hundred percent."

Thompson's statement leaves room for speculation. While it could mean she lacks definitive information, it also suggests that Absolute Aquaman is a serious consideration. Fans eagerly await news, knowing that a complete Justice League lineup in the Absolute Universe is essential.

The Absolute Universe anthology is accessible through local comic shops and DC Universe Infinite subscriptions. The series is set to release on December 21, 2018, with a runtime of 143 minutes and directed by James Wan. Writers include David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Will Beall, Geoff Johns, James Wan, Paul Norris, and Mort Weisinger, with producers Peter Safran and Rob Cowan.

Aquaman, played by Jason Momoa, made his cinematic debut in the 2018 film, with a sequel in the works. The character's potential inclusion in the Absolute Universe adds another layer of excitement for fans, as the series promises to explore the darker, more intense side of DC's iconic heroes.
