Introducing Jeff Brown: The New Face of BCB Front Page Writing
The world of Bleed Cubbie Blue (BCB) is about to get a new face, and it's an exciting one! I'm thrilled to introduce Jeff Brown, our newest front-page writer, who will be taking over the reins from the legendary Duane Pesice. Duane, a stalwart of BCB for over a decade, has decided to step away due to health reasons, and we're incredibly grateful for his contributions.
Jeff, known to many as Ryno1984, is a seasoned writer with a rich history and a deep love for baseball. His journey with the Cubs began in the summer of 1979 when he first got cable TV, and his first favorite player was the iconic Bill Buckner. Jeff's passion for the sport has only grown over the years, and he's now ready to share his expertise with the BCB community.
A Resident of the Southwest
Jeff has called the Tulsa area home for over 60 years, but recently made a bold move to the scorching heat of northwest Phoenix, leaving behind the ice storms and tornadoes. This relocation has given him a unique perspective on life in the Southwest, and I'm sure his articles will reflect this vibrant and diverse region.
A Versatile Writer and Enthusiast
Jeff's working career has been diverse, ranging from insurance to sportswriting for high school programs and a library. This variety has honed his writing skills and given him a broad understanding of various topics. His love for music, particularly early Jazz and Blues, adds a unique flavor to his writing, and his vinyl collection is a testament to his appreciation for the art form.
A Travel Enthusiast
Travel is another passion of Jeff's, and he and his wife of 32 years have explored a wide range of destinations. From minor-league ballparks to National Parks and music-related cruises, their adventures are legendary. Their love for travel and their rescue dogs of various breeds and personalities make them a dynamic and engaging couple.
A New Chapter for BCB
As Jeff takes on the role of front-page writer, he will be penning Cub Tracks four times a week and delving into baseball history on the other three days. His unique perspective, combined with his deep knowledge of the sport, will undoubtedly bring fresh and engaging content to BCB. We're excited to see what he has in store for us.
Thank You, Duane
I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to Duane for his tireless contributions to BCB. His dedication and expertise have been invaluable, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Duane's last article, tomorrow's Cub Tracks, will be a fitting send-off, and we encourage everyone to give him a warm farewell.
Welcome, Jeff!
As we welcome Jeff to the BCB family, let's extend our support and encouragement. His writing will undoubtedly enrich our community, and we're eager to see the unique voice he brings to the site. Join us in thanking Duane for his service and in welcoming Jeff to the team. Here's to many more exciting years of Cubbie Blue!
